How to Redeem a Coupon Code at Giant Food
Giant Food offers a few options for those shopping from home. You can order deli platters and other larger dishes for a party or special event. Unfortunately, the site does not allow you to use a coupon code on those orders. If you have a coupon, you can present it at the store when you pick up your order.
Giant Food Review
Giant Food is a regional supermarket chain that operates grocery stores in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and Delaware. The company's official name is Giant Food of Maryland, LLC, which sets it apart from the Giant Food chain that operates stores in Pennsylvania and nearby states. As a regional grocery store chain, it is similar to A&P and Giant Eagle.
Two men living and working in the Washington DC opened the first shop in the supermarket chain in 1936, but the chain really took off as soldiers returning from World War II bought homes and settled in the suburbs. To keep up with demands from those customers, the chain opened a number of stores outside of Washington DC proper. The chain kept expanding into new states and eventually opened Super Giant stores, which sold home goods and department store products in addition to groceries.
Royal Ahold, a company based out of Denmark, acquired Giant Food in the 2000s. Its new owner experimented with the brand and changed its name to Super G for a short period of time. This new company also introduced a new logo, which features a large G with Giant written inside, and built a distribution center to better get foods and other products into stores. Most refer to the company today as simply Giant.
As part of its new branding effort, Giant now offers fresher foods. Watching Chincoteague Shellfish Farms: A Partnership for Sustainable Seafood, Part 3 will give you an idea of how it sources fresh seafood and the sustainability efforts used by some of its fish farms.
The new Giant Food website provides shoppers with information about local shops and what those stores sell. Using the Find Store search box, you can enter your full address or just your zip code to view Giant locations near you. Once you select a store, you can view the services available at that store and its hours of operation.
If you shop at this supermarket chain regularly, you should sign up for a free Giant card. This is the store's loyalty program that lets you earn points with each dollar that you spend. You get rewards in the form of fuel discounts that you can use at any Giant gas station. The supermarket chain also lets you select a local school when you sign up. That school will then receive discounts and money based on how much you spend.
You can then log in and register your card. Linking your card to a valid email address helps you access all the features of the site. You can view digital coupons that are only valid in Giant Food stores. These coupons will automatically link to your card. When you buy those items in a store and scan your card, the register will automatically deduct each coupon from your order. This cuts down on the time you spend searching through your bag to find all the right coupons.
Giant Food introduced its own in-house magazine called Savory Magazine, though some just call it Savory. Issues usually come out once a month. You have the option of picking up an issue in your local store or viewing the current issue online. Giant will even let you download a copy to a device like a tablet or phone. Each issue comes loaded with delicious recipe ideas as well as tips on decorating and entertaining guests. You'll even find details about sales inside the pages that use products you can buy in Giant Food supermarkets.
Find even more recipes in the Recipe Center. The Giant Food Recipe Center includes recipes from its magazine as well as new and unique recipes. You can view all trending recipes, which are the most popular recipes that viewers looked at over the last 24 hours. The Recipe Center includes a Seasonal Inspiration section that features recipes that utilize fresh ingredients from the current season. With the Giant Food website, you can even refill your prescription medications, order fresh flowers, and arrange for deli platters and desserts suitable for your next party.
