Dave and Buster's Review
Like Chuck E. Cheese's and John's Incredible Pizza, Dave and Buster's is a multi-activity destination. However, while Chuck E. Cheese focuses on kids and families and John's Incredible Pizza tries to offer something for everyone, Dave and Buster's unapologetically focuses mainly on fun for adults, especially singles. At Dave and Buster's you can enjoy an ever-changing menu and unique cocktails while watching sports on big screen TVs or playing one of an arcade of video games from coin-operated classics to the latest state of the art new games. However, it is an awesome place to reserve for parties for kids and teens, as Dave & Buster’s Youth Event Video demonstrates. Dave and Buster's pretty much has everything you need for fun.
The company actually started as two Dallas businesses that opened near each other in the 1970s. James "Buster" Corley opened a restaurant that drew customers to its delicious food and friendly service, and David Corriveau opened a place adults could gather to have fun and play games. They noticed that Buster's diners liked to play David's games and David's game players liked to dine on Buster's food. The customer is always right, so Buster and Dave tossed a coin to see whose name got top billing and opened the first Dave and Buster's in Dallas in December of 1982. There are now more than 70 Dave and Buster's locations found across the United States.
Each Dave and Buster's houses a million dollar arcade with new games added all of the time, an ever growing and changing menu of food and drinks, and enormous HDTVs with stadium surround sound for watching both collegiate and professional sports. Dave and Buster's founders mean it when they say, "We’re the only place to Eat, Drink, Play and Watch Sports!" They have set out to be the first choice for having fun in an atmosphere that includes the latest and all-time greatest games, out-of-the-ordinary food and drinks, and the best sports-viewing experience.
However, Dave and Buster's is serious about their partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which goes back to 2012. Make-A-Wish uses donations to grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses. Dave and Buster's has utilized creative techniques to raise over $3 million dollars. Three times a year, Dave and Buster's guests can participate in the “Share the Power of a Wish: Buy a Star to Help Grant a Wish” campaign. Guests who donate $1 receive a coupon that is good for a $5 FREE Game Play with purchase of $10 game play on a return visit. These coupons can only be redeemed at a Dave and Buster's location. The company also donates $1 to Make-A-Wish for each "Lotsa Loaded Tots" appetizer that is sold. In addition, the company donates Power Cards to Make-A-Wish kids and their families so that they can enjoy fun arcade games at the location nearest them.
