One of its biggest sponsorship agreements was with Mark Gonzalez. Gonzalez is one of the top skateboarders in the world, and he helped show the world that Adidas supported sports beyond traditional sports like baseball or basketball. The company also sponsors up and coming amateur athletes like Vince Del Valle and Alec Majerus.
Part of its success and popularity comes from the impact it had in the fashion world during the 1980s. Rappers and hip-hop artists often wore the brands that their favorite players wore.
